For a Full Degree, one should apply for SAT/SCIO exam registrations prior to 2026.

Step 2: Collect Relevant Documentation

Ensure that you have high-quality copies (in English/Slovak translations), in PDF form, of the following documents:

  1. Up-to-date CV

  2. Personal Motivation Letter

  3. Study/research Plan

  4. Two academic references

  5. Certified copies of diplomas, transcript, and enrollment certificates

  6. Passport/ID copy

Step 3: Apply Online and Deliver Originals

Fill in your profile and submit all required documentation via the official online portal.

Important Information Regarding the National Scholarship Programme: Following your online submission, it is crucial that you physically submit the host university’s invitation letter to SAIA Bratislava, via postal service, within three days after the deadline of the respective call.

Strategy for Winning the Scholarship

There is one crucial key to winning the scholarship: institutional synergy. Selection panels receive thousands of generic application packages each year. You can easily distinguish yourself from the rest of the applicants by highlighting what makes the chosen Slovak department unique in your motivation letter and research plan.Avoid using clichés about the beauty of the country. Highlight the particular instruments and databases available at your host university but unavailable at your own university. Convincingly demonstrating how their funding is going to result in any academic productivity or international collaboration is the way to secure a scholarship.
