Suggestions for Scholarship Applicants

Do Not Put off Registration for Your English Test: There is an absolute rule at IHE Delft—no one who fails to submit his/her officially recognized English test scores until June 1 will have any chance of getting into the running for a scholarship, no matter how impressive the applicant's qualifications are otherwise.

Polish Your Employer Letter to Perfection: The Employer Letter is the thing the selection committee takes into account most heavily. It is essential that you collaborate with your employer and make sure that the content of the letter clearly describes what post-degree re-employment plans you have and what benefits your qualification will bring.

Focus on a Regional Water Problem: Because all your work will take place in your home region, you should emphasize in your motivation why you chose to focus specifically on the regional problem—like saltwater intrusions or coastline erosion in local water bodies.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can I apply if my bachelor's degree was completely done in English?

Even if your former education is entirely in English, IHE Delft would typically need an official language test from a recognized international institution (such as IELTS or TOEFL) for scholarship eligibility. Verify your portal dashboard at once to see whether your individual institution is eligible for a waiver.

Is there discrimination against men applying for this scholarship route?

Absolutely not. Although the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs values women applicants due to the gender imbalance in climate leadership worldwide, exceptionally outstanding and highly supported male applicants in the water industry are always welcome to submit their applications.

When can I know whether I won the scholarship?

Selection review by the organization usually ends in June. Successful scholarship applicants will receive an official announcement email on July 1, 2026, giving enough time for processing your student MVV visa in the Netherlands.
